Training turf inside the building and out

Inside a facility, turf goes down over the floor you already have. Outside at a complex, we build the ground under it first. Either way, the turf is chosen for how your athletes use the space.

Where training turf goes

Most programs don't need a full field. They need the space between the cages, the lane for sprints, or the strip where pitchers warm up. We turf all of it.

Know where your turf is going?

How it works

From bare floor to athletes training

One company runs the install from start to finish. We take the stress of getting the space built off your plate, so you can focus on serving athletes and getting them in the door.

  1. First call

Tell us about your space: indoors or out, its size, and how your athletes will use it.

  2. Plan

We look at the floor or the ground, and help you choose the turf for the work done on it, from sprints and sled pushes to hitting and throwing.

  3. Prep

Indoors, the floor is cleaned and leveled and a pad goes down where it's needed. Outdoors, the ground is graded and a base is built so water drains.

  4. Turf

Training turf goes down, from suppliers including Superior Turf, Rymar Turf and TurfHub, seamed and cut to fit around walls, posts and cage frames, with any lines you want marked.

  5. Finish

The edges are secured, infill goes in where the turf needs it, and the space is checked before anyone trains on it.

  6. Athletes training

You open the space. One company handled it from start to finish.

Who it's for

Training space built by a player

Our founder, Jackson Jones, grew up in Dallas-Fort Worth playing baseball and football on turf, then pitched four years of college baseball, two at North Lake College and two at East Texas Baptist University. He builds training space as someone who spent most of his life training in it.

FAQ

Training turf questions

Have a question that isn't here?

Can you put turf over a concrete floor?

Yes. Most indoor training turf goes down over concrete or an existing floor. We clean and level the floor first, and add a pad underneath where the space calls for one.

Is indoor training turf different from outdoor turf?

Usually, yes. Indoor turf goes over a hard floor and doesn't need to drain. Outdoor turf goes over a graded base built to drain, and has to stand up to Texas sun and rain. We help you choose the right turf for each.

What turf do you use for training areas?

It depends on how the space is used. Sprints and sled work, hitting and throwing, and general warm-up space each suit different turf. We source it from suppliers including Superior Turf, Rymar Turf and TurfHub.

Can you add lines or markings to the turf?

Yes. Yard lines, lane lines and other markings for sprint and agility work can go into the turf during the install. Tell us what you want marked.

Can you build batting cages in the same space?

Yes. We build turnkey cages in any size, with nets custom ordered through Cimarron Sports as a direct dealer, and HitTrax systems and Portolite mounds where you want them. The turf and the cages come from one company.

How much does training turf cost?

It depends on the size of the space, indoors or out, the floor or ground underneath, and the turf you choose. Every space is different, so we quote yours from your space and your plans. The quote is free.

How long does a training turf install take?

It depends on the size of the space, the prep it needs, and, for outdoor areas, the weather. Ask for a quote and we'll give you a timeline for your project.

What warranty comes with training turf?

Two separate warranties. Our workmanship is covered for 1 year. The turf carries the manufacturer's warranty, up to 25 years depending on the product.

Where do you install training turf?

Anywhere in Texas, from our home base in Fort Worth, including the Dallas-Fort Worth area. We also take facility and field projects in surrounding states.
