Built to drain
Built to drain, from the base up
With dogs, what's under the turf matters as much as the turf. We build fields for a living, so every pet area gets a graded, compacted base that carries liquid away and rinses clean instead of holding odor.
Old Lawn Removed
The grass, roots and top layer of soil are dug out and hauled away.
Graded, Draining Base
Crushed rock is graded with a slight slope and compacted, so rain, rinse water and urine drain down and away instead of pooling.
Weed Barrier
A fabric layer that stops weeds from growing up into the turf.
Pet Turf
Turf with a backing that lets liquid pass straight through, chosen for how your dogs use the yard. We install turf from suppliers including Superior Turf, Rymar Turf and TurfHub.
Secured Seams and Edges
Rolls are joined so the seams disappear, and the edges are fastened down along beds, walks and fences so paws and claws can't lift them.
Pet Infill
An infill made for pet areas, brushed into the blades to hold them upright and help control odor.
Two warranties back the install: our workmanship for 1 year, and the turf manufacturer's warranty of up to 25 years.

Measure
We measure the area, check where water drains now, look at sun, shade and access, and help you choose the turf and infill.

You get a free quote built from the measurements and the turf you picked.
Remove and prep
The old grass comes out, and the draining base goes in, graded and compacted.
Install
The turf is laid, seamed, edged and filled with pet infill.
Walk-through
We walk the finished area with you and show you how to care for it: pick up waste, rinse the spots your dogs use most, and brush the high-traffic paths. If you'd rather hand it off, maintenance plans start at $0.35 per square foot.

Pet turf questions
Have a question that isn't here?
Is artificial turf safe for dogs?
Yes. Pet turf is made for dogs to walk, run and play on every day. It's installed over a draining base with an infill made for pets, and there's no fertilizer or weed killer to keep off their paws.
Does pet turf smell?
Not when it's built and cared for right. Urine drains through the turf backing into the rock base instead of sitting on top, and the pet infill helps control odor. Rinse the spots your dogs use most with a hose, more often in summer.
What do I do about dog waste?
Pick up solid waste the way you would on grass, then rinse the spot with a hose. Turf doesn't die back or turn brown where dogs go.
Will my dog dig up the turf?
Most dogs give up on digging when there's no soil to dig into. The edges are fastened down along beds, walks and fences so they can't be pulled up. If your dog is a determined digger, tell us and we'll plan the edges and borders around it.
Does turf get hot on dogs' paws?
Yes, turf in full summer sun gets warmer than natural grass. Rinse it before your dogs go out on hot afternoons and give them shade. If your yard gets full afternoon sun, we'll talk through turf and infill options with you.
How much does pet turf cost?
It depends on the size of the area, how much has to come out, how easy it is to get equipment in, and the turf and infill you choose. We measure the area and quote it from there. The quote is free.
How long does an install take?
A small dog run or potty area can often be done in a day or two once work starts. A full backyard takes a few days, and yards that need more grading take longer. Your quote includes a timeline.
How long does pet turf last, and what's the warranty?
Good turf on a proper base lasts many years. You're covered by two separate warranties: our workmanship for 1 year, and the manufacturer's warranty on the turf, up to 25 years depending on the product.
